Combat on the other hand is a dervish of controller snapping madness. By that, I mean that it feels chunky and unpolished. You have two sets of hot keys X, Y, and B and may change from the first set to the second by pressing the right trigger. In addition, pressing the left trigger pulls up the radial menu which gives you access to additional abilities that you may not have hot keyed. I think the most difficult part of this is deciding what to hot key and what to leave in the radial menu. Apparently you can assign tactics that your character, as well as those in your party, will use however by this point you'll be confused enough to put down the controller and induce vomiting... possibly of the projectile variety.
I could go on, and admittingly I probably will in a few hours, but for now I'm going to give the game another chance and see if I've been taking the wrong approach. Provided, it took some time for me to enjoy Mass Effect as well, so maybe this is just how I react to a new Bioware title.
